I don't like my internship and I think I'm in the wrong major. What should I do?

I'm a civil engineering major (going into my last year) and this summer I have been interning in a construction firm. Honestly, I don't think that this is for me. I know it's too late to change my major but I was wondering what can you do with a civil engineering degree outside of civil engineering? Am I going to be unemployed?

Civil engineering is a broad major, so there is plenty of wiggle room to redirect your interests. Look into water treatment, environmental, structural or geotechnical internships. See what fits your interests best, then refocus.

You could also get a graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in a different engineering field if you’re desperate to get out of Civil.
