I Dont Like Those...NEXT!!!

This might sound completely absurd and paranoid and over exaggerated but I am sort of worried about college essays. The Admissions say that DIVERSITY MATTERS. And I definitly believe that...but what if someone wrote a personal essay on them growing up as a (insert here). What if one of the readers dislikes that group of people...I know that sounds unfair but we all, even if we are good people, stereotype or even discriminate. I'm nervous that if I chose to right an admissions essay on something personal like my religion--there could be shaking heads when my essay is read.

I am not at all trying to be captious or anything but we all are human--not everyone can be completely open minded.

Please respond

Political and religious essays are not good topics for the same reason you described.

I would suggest writing about something else.

bump***********

If it's important to you and can be construed into a non-preaching essay (for lack of a better term) I say go for it. Besides, would you really want to attend a college where admissions officers discriminate against your religion?
