<p>A Constitutional Republic is not in any way a “form of democracy” as a type of government. It is entirely distinct from “indirect democracy” as a form of government (if that is even a form of government). It is a government that mixes oligarchical and democratic principles. It is, as John Adams said, “a government of laws, and not of men.” It is specifically designed to temper tyranny of the majority, which is what you would have in your equal distribution of resources (property).</p>
