I don't remember any Chemistry

My high school Chemistry teacher was basically the worst teacher ever. I came out with an A, but I don't remember anything. I also did badly on the state standardized test because of my shaky foundation in Chemistry. Today I went to my Chem31 class and found out that we started the book on chapter 9 and the professor said that we already should know the stuff before chapter 8. I looked back at ch. 1-8, and did not remember a thing. My question is: If I want to go the premed route, would I be looked down upon by medical schools for taking Chem20D (basically the lowest Chem course at Duke)?

I am also having this problem. I talked to several others in my dorm and they have the same problem, but some decided to stick through it. you can do it.

Hmm. I’ll probably give it a couple of more weeks.

If you really did take high school chem and got an A, you shouldn’t be in 20D. Just a review a little…

I wouldn’t drop to 20D. Give it some time, go to lectures, go to office hours, go to TA tutoring hours, go to recitations, ask plenty of questions. From my experiences, you’ll find that as the semester goes on fewer and fewer people go to those things (especially ones headed by a TA) and you’ll basically have the entire time for yourself (and maybe one or two others) to ask questions, review the fundamentals, go over new concepts, etc.

@OP, I dropped :</p>

futurexreject and worried applicant- D is having same issues. Who is your professor?
How are your other classes? What dorms are you in?
