I dont see why they require you to write down ur test scores

On the common app. and other apps, they request that you write down your standardized test scores on the application. If they're going to check the official scores anyway, why do I have to do this? Will they even check the official scores?

Im applying to a school early decision, and I was only able to rush my ACT scores to the college. I have taken SAT IIs, but I did not send the official score report. Do you think the colleges will mind if I write down what i got on these tests anyway? If the official score wasn't sent, will they simply disregard the scores or will they frown upon it?

If you don't have the scores sent to a school, I would expect them to ignore the scores you have reported.

Including the scores on your application may allow them to make a preliminary decision on your application before they have received a formal score report.

When they ignore the scores, do you think they will just ignore it or be like, "hmm.. this kid... there's a chance that he's lying.. and there's also a chance that he just forgot to send his scores.. in which case he's probably not that interested in the school.. hmm.. or maybe college board is just being their incompetent selves.."?

What's a preliminary decision? Do my scores have to be sent by Nov. 1 if thats my deadline?

What happens if I write down only the scores I like? lol

bump. this is really imporatnt and urgent, as deadline is nov 1. please help me.

Could someone PLEASE answer my questions? Im not trying to come off as obnoxoius or self-righteous, but I need this question answered.

Write down all of them and send the score report. Why wouldn't you?

Because some of my scores are better than others. See my other thread as well:

Duke requires the ACT OR the SAT with 2 subject tests. I've only sent in my ACT score because my ACT score is superior to my SAT score, and my 3 subject tests aren't exactly phenomenal (790 in native language, 710 us history, 680 math IIC).

I was thinking of writing down my 790 and 710 if they don't frown upon it.

What if I only write down a single SAT II and then write that I'm taking the next SAT II in Nov. (this school requires 2 SAT IIs)? I have other SAT II scores, but I'd rather not have them look at it (even though they will be able to anyway).

For example, I want to send my SAT II Chem score and my SAT II Math 2 (but I'll be taking this in Nov.). I'm rushing scores and I'm allowed to state that I'm taking the Math 2 test in Nov., but will there be any type of problem, since it takes College Board quite a long time to get the scores out? Can they just look at my official score report (with the Math 2 test) if they need a second SAT II and haven't received the Math 2 score yet?

Thanks
