Math:76%
Reading:95%

Overall:95%

I am applying to Exeter, Taft, and Deerfield. Are these scores too bad to get in? I'm really disappointed in my math score

Well just compare to all the schools averages. You’re above all. But I’m not sure how they look on one thorn among two roses. Personally I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Exeter’s average is a 90% and Taft and Deerfield are both lower than that. Don’t worry about your scores at all–they’re perfectly fine! Even though your math score is low, they’ll know that you’re a strong reading candidate and an okay math candidate. Don’t worry, you’re fine.

Is this a joke? You are asking if your scores are too bad, while I’m sure you know that all of your scores are well above the averages for all of your schools. Please actually think before you post a thread like this. If your scores are too bad, what about the 95% of test takers that did worse than you…?

I agree with pinkandgreen prep… This is BS. You’re really are asking about this? It’s ludicrous. Many people would die to have those scores. Go home.

You guys are being a little harsh. While your reading and verbal are very good, math is important too. Schools do look at math. I don’t think that would be the sole reason if you got waitlisted or rejected.

How are we being harsh? Her scores are near perfect, and it seems as if she created this thread just to be reassured that they are. A 76% isn’t awful, and many people who don’t use CC would kill for a score like that, let alone scores in the 90s. I apologize if I come off rude, but this thread is ridiculous.

That really is ridiculous. You aren’t being harsh at all. Someone who is well prepared enough to score well is well prepared enough to know the averages at the schools he/she is applying to.

However I do understand why you would worry about the math score. But that’s only a problem if you don’t have a good average.

I also think you would get better feedback if you posted this in an existing thread for posting scores. There are way too many threads floating around about people unhappy or concerned about their scores. There’s a few of these threads made for everyone to post their scores, just make a search.

The “go home” was a little harsh, don’t you think?

I posted this thread in a moment of panic last night. I’m sorry if it came off a bit arrogant and perhaps I could have worded it better, but I thought for a second that it was all over. I was honestly concerned with my math score and I thought that coming to CC would clear things up. But there is truly no need to be so harsh. I’m sure you’ve all had those moments where you’re consumed by anxiety and seek advice. So maybe next time you’ll think before beings so rude

It’s not being rude, you will just get those responses on CC. Posting that is like the equivalent of those ‘chance me’ threads where the op is trying to get people to notice his/her perfect resume. Honestly people won’t know the difference if you are just trying to get attention or if you are genuinely concerned. People do it to me all the time. I’ve made a couple threads without thinking and got some pretty negative responses. But then I realized that there were tons of threads I could read through instead of annoying others with the same repetitive thread. People are just trying to clue you in about what you should or shouldn’t post on CC. Don’t take it to heart.

Actually, with that said people on CC can be kind of rude but so can anyone on the Internet. They can’t see you and what you are thinking so people get annoyed pretty easily and will reply whatever they want because they don’t actually know you. Don’t worry about it though, that is jut what comes along with being on CC.

At least you feel better about your scores now!

Gosh, guys! Maybe she/he really didn’t know. It’s okay mayafairy, your scores were perfectly good. They’re well within your range of schools.

That 76% in math MIGHT hurt your chance to Exeter a bit. And you did better than 94% of other test takers, that is so bad no!
