I forgot to mention that you would be eligible for Pell grants. So between the roughly $5500 Pell Grants and the $4400 money you would be saving on loan interest, you are already roughly $10K per year better off in 4 years by working now and going to school later.
I am confused though - can’t a student take a medical leave from university due to a close relative’s medical situation?
We have students who have taken such a leave due to a parent or sibling illness. I’d think the counseling center would be able to help set up a plan.
