I don't think my counselor will write a good recommendation...

I transferred to this school in sophomore year. In last year, I thought I signed up for AP Physics but she signed up me for regular Physics and my junior year schedule got messed up:) I who want to major in CS could not take Computer science classes. Also, this is not the only trouble I had with her. My mom emailed to the principal to change the counselor but they didn’t let us and my counselor know all about it. I am senior and have to get the recommendation from her. Also, even though the school is sooooooo liberal, the counselor supports president and I am an immigrant. I am so worrying about the recommendation…

Please take a deep breath.

It’s her job to tell the best truth she knows how to tell about each of her guidance kids. Most of what she writes will describe the coursework you had and any extraordinary circumstances-- like transferring in sophomore year.

Seriously, don’t sweat this. Whether or not your letter is a glowing recommendation, it won’t harm your application. And the fact that your transferred in could easily explain why she doesn’t seem to know you as well as one might hope.

Did this counselor say negative things about immigrants? Cuz I don’t see why her political affiliation would be an issue.

Also agree with the post above. Letters from the counselors are probably not that important because some counselors have to write hundreds of letters each year for kids they don’t know. Try to get good teacher recs, though.

Long time no see bjkmom! I think I was worrying too much about recommendation. Your comment made me to calm down from worrying. Thanks a lot

I will try soontobecolleger as you told me. Because I heard one of my teachers who wrote my NHS recommendation letters wrote horribly, it kinda made me to worry a lot about recs. Thank you for good advice!
