OK, I am currently a junior in high school. I'm graduating next year (May 2015), and I'm really confused about when I should apply to schools. For example, UTA(University of Texas at Arlington), their fall application deadline is June 1st. Would that mean June 1st of this year, or next year. I'm really confused because if it is this year, I just feel like the date is really early. Can someone please clarify this for me? I know this is probably a stupid question, but I'm really confused and I do not want to apply late because I thought wrong.

6/1/14 is the deadline for current seniors applying for this coming fall.

It looks like UTA has what is called rolling admissions which starts in about Aug/Sept and continues until the deadline and all spots are filled.

The UT system allows you to apply in August 2014 for Fall 2015. This way you know well head of time if you’re in or not, and that helps if you are applying to lots of competitive schools: you have one admission in hand, then you can relax and apply to lots of other schools, even if you don’t get in you’ll be okay. In addition, applying early means easier standards of admission and opportunities for scholarships. The June 1st deadline is for seniors who didn’t get in anywhere else, or “woke up late” to the process, or changed their mind, but you should absolutely apply earlier than that.

Thank you both so much!
