I don't understand how UC gpa works. :(

Can someone tell me what my uc gpa would be?

10th- 1st and 2nd semester (same grades)

AP World History: A
H Math Analysis (UC approved): B
H Chem (UC approved): A
H English: A
Spanish II: B

11th- 1st semester

AP Eng lang: A
AP Calc AB: A
AP Environmental Science: A
AP Biology: A
AP US History: A
Intro Comp (a-g course): A

11th- 2nd semester

AP Eng: A
AP Calc BC: A
AP Environmental Science: A
AP Biology: A
AP US History: A

uc gpa: 4.66

Really?!? I would be so happy if that is really true. I wasn’t expecting anything higher than 4.3 since I got 4 B’s.

can anyone explain it to me how it works, or can anyone verify its 4.66?

I don’t think it’s possible to get a 4.66, much less with 4 B’s, as only 8 semester courses can be weighted. There are UC GPA calculators out there, i’m not too familiar with your courses so I can’t calculate it myself. Sorry. Impressive course load however.

yeah i know there are calculators, but I don’t know understand how it works.

Thanks though.

Can anyone confirm whether or not its 4.66?

uh, i think it’s supposed to cap at 5 weighted classes (10 semesters), which gives you about 4.3 (4.28something) unless i did something wrong.

did they change it to 10? I always thought it was 8.

i thought it was 8 too

so is it 4.28 something, or 4.66?

in any case, i would say your GPA is a match for UCLA

It’s capped at 8 semesters (4 Honor/AP classes).

How come you sometimes took 6 courses and sometimes only 5? If you took any free periods then you don’t have a chance at UCLA.

i didnt take any free periods, just courses that were not a-g courses like health, life skills, p.e, etc..

but I think they still count toward gpa

I’m fairly certain that only a-g courses count toward the UC GPA.

only a-g courses count

So what is my uc gpa? :(

Is 4.1665 right? It sort of seems low. :(

Since UC gpa is capped at 8, is the max uc gpa 4.33?

Sorry, I forgot that AP/Honors credit is capped at 8 semesters.

I always wanted to try out something… take P.E. and a health class for both sophomore year and junior year and max out your APs. Then possibly your the highest UC GPA you could have is a 4.5, hahh.

For the record! :)
