So, I've already done as essay with what I THOUGHT this prompt was asking but I still don't think I am understanding it properly (why, I don't know...) Can someone here help me out and make it easier for me to understand?

Pepperdine's scholarly community equips students with a liberal arts education anchored in Christian values. Our commitment to integrating faith and learning challenges our students to understand that the gift of knowledge ultimately calls for a life of service. With this commitment in mind, please respond:

Tell us how the integration of faith and learning can prepare you for a life of service, and discuss the impact service-learning can have on the renewing of your mind, spirit, and community.

I think the prompt is quite straightforward: explain how faith combined with learning is necessary for a life of service. For faith, you can talk about how it helped you overcome obstacles, be optimistic, persevere, have a purpose in life, etc. For learning, talk about how the knowledge you learned both in and outside of the classroom can better prepare you for your future career. For service - well, that’s about what you ultimately want to do in life. Perhaps you want to utilize your learning and faith to create, to heal, to invent, to explore, to defy conventions, to inspire, to enlighten others… or do anything else for the bettering of humanity.

Here’s the another important part of the prompt:

“the gift of knowledge ultimatedly calls for a life of service.”

Elaborate on it;) Overall, this is a rather broad essay topic that you may want to tackle by relating it to your personal experiences. Would it be easier for you if you talk about a specific event in your life? Maybe talk about an activity that you participated in high school during which you made your learning useful and so came to appreciate the joy of helping others. Maybe this particular experience convinced you of what you ultimately want out of life?

Maybe there was a moment in your childhood when faith became an important part of your life: you realized that you wanted to help others, but at the time, you lacked the knowledge to do so, hence now, as a high school senior, you realize the limitation of your knowledge and want to attend Pepperdine to furnish yourself with the necessary learning…

Ideas for this essay are countless:) Have fun with it;)
