I dont wanna write Common App Supp. Essay. I already wrote that topic on my comm. app

hello.

I submitted my Common App to Rice U. like 1-2 weeks ago.
And to be honest, I was so tried, i didnt think abit more about going an easy way.

but i looked Rice's Common Application Suppliment and found their topic is just what I talked in my common app essay.. T_T

what should I do?
Can I destroy my common application and sending Rice's own application or something like that??
(i dont get it. if they want one essay, they could or should tell applicants to write Their topic :( )

in addition, what is a dealio with a box thing? what should i do ??
what do you guys do??

thank in advance.

me too! i have the same problem, except i haven't sent in my common app yet, but i have already asked my teachers and counselor to write their recs with the common app form and i don't want to make them redo it, so i guess i hafta write another essay now. ;[

jus lookin over posts and i realized that i have the same problem

what should i do?

Perhaps this could be remedied by actually inquiring at Rice?

The "Box" part is intentionally ambiguous; you can put whatever you want in it.

i just printed my common app. essay and attached to the rice supplement, and of course explained a little on the bottom of essay.

well it might hurt my chances, but i couldnt write a brandnew essay in such a short period of time.

I called them and asked if I could submit their application, but have my teacher and counselor submit the common app ones. They said it was fine. It seems thats the only topic they really want you to write about, because the rice app asks only for the one essay.

kit416, thank you sooooooooo much!

you're welcome :)
