Hey.. Well I'm new on here. Basically. I'm not interested in being chanced, I'm not nearly settled on a list so..
I'll give you quick stats before I ask my question
Junior in a small, small, small High School in a tiny part of Indiana.
GPA: 3.9 Unweighted, my school doesn't weight, but I can figure it out if that helps
Rank: 3/87
Current Classes: College Prep English 11, Spanish III, Chemistry I, Accounting I, US History, Pre-Calculus, and Yearbook.
EC: I don't have any really.. I manage the Varsity Track team, and I did Theatre Freshman year (which was at a HUGE School in TN), and I plan to continue it this year. I have a Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do, but this wasn't done while I was in High School so other than that. I've been looking into Volunteering, but there is limited opportunities.

My school has 4 APs total I think. English, Calc, Bio, and Chem. I'll deff. be taking English and Calc. With Bio and Chem they're only offered directly after Bio and Chem I if there aren't enough people to make up a Bio II and an AP Bio... So that depends. My school also doesn't offer Honors/Advanced classes period, except for College Prep English.

Anyways.. My question is does it hurt my chances at some OOS bigger(as in more known) and/or private schools that I don't have Honors Classes and AP classes under my belt? I am taking the toughest offered (some people got to take a Science as an 8th grade, and therefore are taking Chem II or Bio II right now) otherwise I'm right up there with everyone else. I even took 2 Math Classes (Geometry and Algebra II) at the same time last year to catch up. I also don't take Study Halls, I had one for 1 semester last year and that's it.
I know colleges say that they want you to be taking the most rigorous offered, but if you compared me to someone who was pretty much the same (ranked well, had a good GPA, little ECs, academic awards, etc), but they were in a better High School that had the better classes, would I be at a serious disadvantage?

When I was a Freshman at my bigger school I was taking honors everything, except Spanish. I had had a bad experience with a 6 week class and wasn't sure I could handle it, then I fell in love with the language but that was besides the point. I handled Honors Algebra I, Honors Physical Science, Honors English, and then Spanish I, P.E., Theatre Arts I & II, and Pre-Algebra (I had block scheduling, thus the 2 math classes weren't at the same time that year) Then we moved and I no longer had that opportunity.

I mean there isn't anything I can do, but it'll help me better evaluate my Reaches vs. Matches, etc.

Thanks a lot
