I don't want to go to college but society forces me to

Is earning more money a specific goal? Honestly that is the only one I can think of.

Key word being “usual”, if you’re that against college why don’t you work hard and be the exception, not the rule.

I guess I just take the path of least resistance…and that would be start a mass revolution and vote to disband colleges.

LOL.

Well…

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_o6vigEr23C4/S7gCqSX-vtI/AAAAAAAAAfc/cqAEiz1zn0o/s1600/uo.png

Perhaps, then, GPA is Queen, and IQ is a serf who got laid off? Enjoy your life of high-IQ mediocrity, peasant.

Supermodels don’t go to college.

The partying and drinking and trying to hook up is only on the weekends, mostly.

But hey, people just do that because what it is a fun and easy thing to do on a Friday night. The same lifestyle applies to young people regardless of they are in college or not.

College is usually very fun, though. And it’s basically about getting a piece of paper that documents what you know and that you have aspirations/ can get things done on a deadline.

Do what you will, but you can always graduate with a degree in 3 years if you want to.

where are you going to college prothero?

Everyone on the internet these days seems to have high IQs… I wonder if they were conducted from a proper test or one of those click me pop ups haha.

I don’t think those are real. I only scored above average on one of those and my low gpa indicates an extremely high iq.

That’s not how it works, Prothero. If you’d memorized my posts, you’d see that it’s more multifaceted than that. It’s indeed possible that you have both a low GPA and a low IQ

I am so bad at memorizing wb1, should I commit suicide because of my low gpa and lack of memorizational ability?

No. Try doing something that requires aptitude and pays well. College is no place for high-IQ people with no memorization ethic because your talents will go completely to waste if you refuse to memorize anything. Any profession that is mostly male, such as truck driver, skilled construction worker, automotive technician, semi-organized criminal, computer programmer, or helicopter pilot requires more IQ, less education, and pays better per hour than mostly female professions such as big four auditors, low-level office workers who do nothing, grocery store clerks, and workers at non-profits. The latter group has vastly higher GPAs, slightly lower IQs, and lower pay.

Wah wah wah, I don’t want to go to college, but society is making me… give me a break. Do what you want to do, don’t think about how others are living in order to get by. That is the problem with our generation, you can’t think for yourself. If you don’t want to go, just find something you like to do that can be career. Best advice ever, you’re welcome in advance.

nitrohazelton, may I ask what your job is that is so devoid of societal dependence that you have complete freedom to apply your intellectual and creative abilities?

Living your life to your own whims and desires sounds great on paper but is completely unrealistic.

WB, thank you for the suggestions. If college doesn’t work out I still have boat captain, truck driver, and bulldozer operator as possibilities.

“Does anyone else feel this way?”

Yes and I think my blog can help you out. Don’t listen to what “society” tells you to do.

[The Single Dude’s Guide to Life & Travel](http://www.singledudetravel.com/)

In my opinion, Part of going to college to get a good job is political. They want to see you contribute economically to society before giving you a job… and skipping college and going in the mititary accomplishes some of that. You have to proove yourself.

PS. Believing that your IQ is higher than others / entitles you to something will get you no where…

I was in several high IQ societies when I was a teenager, but now I do not see a relationship bertween IQ and success. Yes, there are dumb people, and brilliant people, but there are also like 7 types of intelligence (musical, spacial… etc.) anyway, I’ve only taken untimed expirimental tests. I got a 165 IQ on a test called Logima Strictica… but the norming changed and my score equated more to 150 or something.

I generally don’t attach any significance to an IQ number, now.

Agree. I believe most of the “learning” happens outside the classroom, when you are experiencing life. The military… then 2 years of studying abroad all by myself, paying for it all…

Society hasn’t laid out anything. You’re the one who wants a good job, so you’re the one that decided you need to go to college, not society. Yes, society made college the pathway to a high paying job, but only because it makes sense. You learn and prepare for your goob job. Thats how it is. You dont have to go to college, but you have to realize that not going sacrifices oppurtunites. No one is forcing you, do something else if you want.

You serious about society dictating how you’re supposed to live?

Go join the military then. Or commit a crime. Or seek low wage employment. Society doesn’t force you to do anything. There are three other opportunities available to you, which I have outlined above.

Pursuing higher education opens additional opportunities. That’s why people pursue it. Not because society tells them they should. If they don’t, they won’t get anywhere.
