Hey everyone, I have completed over 60 units and I have all my pre-reqs etc finished. I decided to take one extra class for Spring and I dropped it because of my job. I heard we need to update our TAU and also contact each individual school we applied to..is this all necessary? I'll be receiving a grade anyway, a W in the end anyway so is it even required? I stated I am planning to take this class in my initial TAU.

Thanks for everything guys!

everything need to be matched.

transcript -> Application.

my TAU has a PL for the class I just dropped. When I send my transcript later this year, it will have a grade of W. If it’s gonna have a W why do I even have to call them? It’s not like Ws are Fs or anything. I just don’t understand the need. but thanks again all

Might as well? I don’t know, it does seem unnecessary especially if its a class for nothing.

Why are you so resistant to making a few simple phone calls? It’ll literally only take a few mins for each UC. If you care about getting into a UC you wouldn’t do anything to compromise getting admitted. If you change your schedule even if the class is insignificant there’s a still a chance that you could be rescinded because your transcript won’t completely match what you reported. If the UCs think you were disingenuous with your academic information, no matter how petty it might seem they can rescind you. And a withdraw is NOT a grade, they’re expecting you to have so many units and to pass everything you’ve reported. If you take a W and try to not saying anything, obviously the number of units you have will be different and you won’t have officially passed that class, whether or not it affects the 60 units of it’s a prerequisite. If you truly cared about your admissions status you would’ve called as early as possible and informed them. If it’s worth it to be lazy and risk getting rescinded no matter how improbably it might seem for your situation go right ahead.

With all the time you’ve spent making excuses trying to rationalize why not to call, you could’ve done so by now and have not had to worry about it.

I think you will be fine, but you will have to update on the TAU that you withdrew the course

Hi,
Call every school up and tell them. Usually if you drop a class explain why and what you added for example if you dropped ap calc you should add two
More classes or ap classes to show you are still competitive: good luck! :)

@OP
Everything must be matched. So if you think that you will be fine then don’t call. Why waste your time :)

Okay got it. Thanks so much for the feedback guys. I’ll make the phone calls soon.
