thats the better one

21 hours help me not freak out i definitely need to study ap calc right now and have no motivation though i havent had any the entire year which is why i need to study, almost a catchh 22 i think right? So anyway im ne here and i regret it this message board is the best thing thats happened to me in the last however many days since i started looking at colleges
me and my 25th percentile scores have no chance at getting in but I hope i do so i can catch up with you all
ahhh my fingernails are all gone what will i chew tomorrow?!!?

I'm so close. and so screwed.

i just have to focus, cuz i have finals 16-22 Dec, then I no longer have to worry about grades, b/c i will pass the midterm SSR point. except that i will actually have to study for these things, and PENN kinda inhibits that. :( :(

I feel like crap about my app, too. 1420/2030, 690, 680, 640. Class rank 9/469, gpa 3.8, which, while not low, is very much not high (does a 3.4 freshman year and straight A's since count as an upward trend?).
The scores are a killer, but the EC's are a bugger too.
Killers: Testing (beyond my control), freshman year (bmc), EC's (bmc), interview, 0 awards (bmc), and NO CALCULUS (guess what? completely bmc :()
like 5 of the nine lines for EC's were soccer for me. it really blows. and i wrote down the time for soccer wrong. at the time it was like 25 hrs/wk. turns out, it's really 32-35 hrs/wk. Bummer.
My hooks: 5 hurricanes, moving 4 times, red hair, and diverse background (homeschooled, community college, and public school). This is my app!! i'm in deep trouble.

good luck to y'all, though

i wrote 10 hours per week for violin when it's closer to 20, i didn't want to seem like i was lying

I didn't even put down violin...though I didn't start until right after I sent in the application so I guess that makes sense. But I didn't put down piano or clarinet and I should have. I didn't put down any out of school things I do.

I should start finishing up my RD applications :( I still have a personal essay and a few "why this college?" essay to do.. this is another reason why I need to get into Penn lol..

If you have a hook you're cooler than me. :)

hey not to sound out of line and don't take this the wrong way but is a death in the family something they consider? especially if it put excrutiating circumstances on me and my mom?
don't worry about saying anything "out of line" i've adjusted

yeah, it's a terrible thing, and overcoming adversity is a hook. i'm sorry

Do you guys like this version more with a red color for the decision or the one I posted earlier with blue?

what about ACT? Some of us only took ACT :D

I have a feeling people will be changing the colors to match their mood, for better or worse!

yeah i mean who could deny pink?

where's the official DECISION format?

Official decision format instructions:

Go to Post 26 of this thread - Copy and paste, and then click the mouse in front of any spaces you see, then backspace to eliminate all spaces(not letters or words) within the brackets. Pay attention to the category headings, it's easy to miss some of the spaces within those brackets. Other than that, to change the color of the heading, just type blue for blue, red for red, etc.
