At orientation I backpacked and registered for classes and I wanted to register for psych 121 section 1 which is a first year seminar in psych but I accidentally registered for section 2 somehow. There are four seats open but they say enrollment management. I assume they are reserved for incoming first year students... Is there any way I could get into the course. I am really interested in taking it. Do you think emailing the instructor would help?

Just check every day and whenever they take the enrollment management off you’ll be able to register. Or you could email the psych department and ask what date they’re planning on taking it off, there’s a chance they’ll tell you.

Often enrollment management is used to hold spots open for students with later orientation. As maizeandblue says, you can keep visiting Wolverine Access and add the course when they lift the hold. You can also check with the psych department or the instructor and see if an override is available.

From your post, I cannot tell if you are a first year student or not. You say you went to orientation which suggests you are but you think they are holding spaces for incoming first year students which suggests you are not (otherwise you would have permission to enroll). I am guessing you are a first year student but not sure.

I am an incoming first year student which is why I thought it was strange I could not enroll.

Thanks for the advice! I emailed the psych department and sent an email to the instructor.
