I failed a class senior year

How greatly will this factor into my acceptance. I know that it is the duty of high school seniors to keep up their good grades, and colleges are capable of retracting acceptances after looking at senior year performance.

I failed AP Spanish 5-- failed as in failed the SEMESTER. 0.0 credits appears on my report card/ mid school year report. :( I tried though lol. I passed the rest of my classes, my lowest (passing) grade being an 81. I also got an A in AP Anatomy (92).

So whaddya think will happen to me? How do you think Harvard will interpret my slip up?
There is no reason I failed other than utter laziness. It's my hardest class (believe it or not) and I don't even know why I signed up for it. So basically I do not have any kind of excuse whatsoever. I'll gladly admit that I should have tried MUCH harder.

EDIT: Oh I got a 66 in Spanish for semester grade. The grades were 65,62,70. And Spanish 5 is considered an elective

well don’t get ahead of yourself, you still don’t know if you have even been accepted in the first place. supposing you are, harvard may or may not retract its offer of admission. failing a course is serious, but i think if overall you passed then you should be fine.

Sorry to say, but you may have ruined your own chances of admission, especially with a reason like this:

Laziness is not a trait that the Harvard adcoms particularly admire.

So a 66 is an F at your school?

You aren’t going to get into Harvard if you failed an AP class first semester.

■■■■■.

There’s no such thing as AP Anatomy.

The fact that you got an F, at least 1 B, and that you mentioned to us your 92 in AP Anatomy as a worthy accomplishment implies that you have a less than stellar high school transcript even without that F. Assuming only average SAT scores of around 2200s and average ECs, you’re not likely to get in. If it’s worth anything, I apologize, even though I do not know what for.

Ouch? 10char

Errrr no, there exists no such AP course. Either the College Board is lying about which AP courses are true AP courses, or your school is just weird ;)

We also have an AP Anatomy, which is basically an honors class that donned on the AP title to make itself appear “special”.

Isn’t “Advanced Placement” an official title that must be certified?

Yeah, that’s exactly the point I’ve been attempting to make. lawlz.

Yeah. The government should do something about that, instead of dicking around on an Internet forum.

My school has AP Public Policy when it really shoudl be called AP Government & Polotics.

The original poster will not get accepted with those grades, sorry.

wow um okay HONORS Anatomy. Whatever, The Government. Sheesh chill out. I’m sure you resemble a ■■■■■.

Yeah, sorry, but even if he is a ■■■■■ you still probably won’t get in. I had one B+ as my lowest final grade in a class in high school and that is worse than most kids here at Harvard.

sorry. i don’t think you will get in.

Anatomy and Physiology would be a nice addition to the AP curriculum. Currently, many high schools offer it through a local university.

I think Anatomy and Physio is adequately covered in AP Biology. If they made a new science AP, it would be Astronomy or Geology or some other weird subject that is completely ignored.

OP will not get in.
