I Failed Algebra 2. Will I do bad in Pre-Calc?

I took Honors Algebra 2 as a sophomore and failed both semesters. I retook it in summer school and barely got a B. I’m really worried that I’m gonna failed pre-calc as a Junior. Is it really similar to Algebra 2 or will I be OK? Please help I am stressing out.

Get a tutor!

It’s similar to algebra 2 and harder, so take it ‘regular’ or ‘CP’. Get a tutor immediately, don’t wait till you find things rough, talk with the teacher right off the bat and explain you find math hard so what can s/he advise you do to make it through? Convey that you’re willing to work very hard and prove it.
If you find it too hard, be ready to switch for something else, provided you’re not planning to major in stem or business (which isn’t wise if you struggled with algebra2).

Yes. Precalc at my school was a lot of algebra 2 review with some newer concepts like more complex graphs and trig identities.

Okay, is Honors Algebra 2 really as hard as everyone says? I’m taking it next year and honestly I’m a little scared because of everything I’ve heard. I was pretty good at geometry (A in S1, A- in S2 of Honors) and Algebra (i’m pretty sure i got an A- overall) so do you think I’ll be okay? What should I do to review for next year bc I don’t remember any algebra 1?

Use Khan Academy.

“Precalc” is such a vague term-- I honestly think it depends on your school. I can tell you for a fact that the Precalc I teach is light years easier than Algebra II/ Trig.

I think it’s more a question of realizing when you’re starting to get lost and getting to extra help right away.

If you’re looking for algebra review, I’m much more a fan of NY Regents Review sites than Khan academy. Take a look at these:

If you review your algebra you should be fine.

I’d definitely say it’s harder than algebra 2, with some new concepts added in (i.e. polar graphs, synthetic division)- if you don’t review your notes and/or get a tutor, you can easily fall behind if your school is anything like mine.
That’s what happened to me this year; got a C first semester and barely got a B this semester bc I actually started trying & got a p good tutor
