I failed chm2045

I know...and I feel so bad..
I was wondering if it would be a better choice to retake chm2045 or chm2051..
how does grade system work in uf? do they take average of two courses?

The effect on your GPA will be the weight of the averaged grade over the amount of credits the class is times two.

So for instance… if you got an E in the class first time and a B in the class the second time; congrats, you passed and can now take part two … BUT the grade in part one will be factored into your GPA like this:

(0.0 + 3.0) / 2 = 1.5 over 6 credits (taking a 3 credit class twice). So that would be like taking two three credit classes and getting a C- in them both.

The effect is worse than people think because they think the average grade overwrites the initial one.

sorry to hear that, CHM 2045 at UF, like I said before, is relatively a difficult course that should not be underestimated by an means.

Did you try your best?

You honestly must not have utilized all the resources you could have. CHM2045 is not a subject to be reckoned with. Its not like hgh school chemistry. You have to apply yourself. Study the book, go to class, copy notes, go to tutoringzone (highly reccomended), whatever it takes to do well in a class.

I suggest you take Gower once you retake the course. Hes a very fair professor. One exam drop, no MasteringCHemistry, HW counts for a good portion of your grade (all the answers available online), and the Final is all recycled questions from the previous exams. Just apply yourself and utilize all the many resources that UF and tutoringzone offers… An A is very doable.
