I’m a computer IT major and this was my first semester In College and I failed two of my classes. I got an F and it was for English and i got an F and it was for math. can I take this class over like during the summer ? if I take the class over will my grade change from an F to whatever I got when I take it over? I feel so bad cause all my other classes i have : A+, B+, C+ and then there’s English and Math I feel really upset like really really upset, i don’t know what to do. I am going to see a counselor next week to talk about it and I’ll take it the math class in the fall and the English during winter break. honestly I feel stupid, I never failed an class in my life.
Try not to worry. It may feel bad today, but this is not the end of the world by any measure. People fail classes all of the time and they go on to great careers. Your counselor (advisor) at CC will help you sort out your options. This is a stumble and you’re already getting up and moving forward, right? You already have the appt with your counselor.
yeah I have already made an appt with him for next week. I’ll just try harder again in the fall, thanks
If you retake the classes this summer, your new grade will replace the old grade for GPA purposes. Unfortunately, your Fs will stay on your transcript, but if you successfully turn things around, as many students do, these grades will not have much of an impact down the road.
Retaking failing classes as soon as possible is important so that you don’t end up on suspension, which can affect financial aid (especially when you’re just starting out and don’t have a lot of credits to counterbalance low grades).
