I feel bad

I'm from NYC and attended private school, and i totally disagree, in spite of WashU's higher average SAT score/GPA, Tufts is more prestigious than WashU on the east coast.

true dat. Nobody over the age of 20 considers WashU more prestigious than Tufts (except people who went to WashU). The only reason so many high schoolers think that is because of the USNews rankings.

The only thing I can add to many of these thorough, and thoughtful responses is something I've written in response to other posts.

My son just completed his first year. He LOVES Tufts - couldn't be happier. Works hard, plays hard and fits 26 hours in a day. During winter/semester break he reported that he and many of his friends were saying that they didn't want to leave Tufts - not that they didn't want to go home and see family/friends, but they were just so happy....

My son's one concern is that his time at tufts seems to be passing so quickly.

Forbes just came out with their own rankings. Tufts comes in at #46. The United States Military Academy ranks #6. 'nuff said.

It's a question of best fit. If you enjoy academic rigor, a diverse academic community, good people, and close proximity to an exciting city (Go Sox!) I think you'll be very happy at Tufts.

It's definately a school on the move.
