Gurl! This is so true! In my calc class my teacher thinks I’m smart. I went in after school and she kept emphasizing how I’m a bright kid even though I got a D on my last test, and that I just made some “little mistakes”. I REALLY don’t get calc…

It’s the same with me in my AP Micro class.

A lot of my classmates who don’t know me well think I’m really smart with a 4.0 GPA which is almost a whole letter grade off. LOL. I really hate it because they have high expectations for me like on group activities.

I know a BUNCH of kids who should be in AP level classes. There’s this football player who’s super smart but he takes the normal classes because that’s what all the other football players do. He comes to class late and acts gangsta but he gets all his homework done and gets A’s on tests. I know that he’s secretly a nerd at home… In fact I know 2 more football players like that.

Grades say nothing about one’s intellectual abilities. What they say is that you’re either a hard worker, good at school, or both.

I’m not vehement towards grades because I can’t get good ones. This is coming from a kid who has gotten A+ and a few A in all his honors and AP classes (I only take normal classes if i have to) and i’ve realized just how bad this system is, which forces kids to compete against each other when they are both very smart.

I only get good grades for college, and I will get good grades in college to get into professional school. Afterwards, I will get good grades in professional school so I can get the job of my dreams and leave this system far behind.

Well you don’t get grades in real life, fisalab so you pretty much are saying you’ll milk the system till it’s dead :P

^^ I agree about grades vs. intelligence.
