Hello! So I am currently a junior and am taking full IB. The year just started so I think I’m doing okay. What I’m really worried about is my lack of EC’s and my depth of the EC’s. So far the ones I’m thinking of putting on the application are: Asian Club Officer (9,10,11), Korean Club member (10) & Officer (11), [Name] Music School (10&11), Student Ambassador (11), Spring Play -Playing the Violin & Acting (9,10,11), Poetry Blog (10,11), Work (11), Peer Tutoring (9,10, maybe 11… if I don’t peer tutor this year, I’ll probably be a tutor in an after school program for kids so I’ll change my common app title to “Tutoring” instead of "Peer Tutoring), My City’s seasonally fall volunteer projects (10,11), and Speech Team (10,11). All of these, I am planning on also doing my senior year. None of these though, have I achieved great success or awards except for the awards given at my recital in my music school. As for Speech Team, hopefully this year I will make it to states bc for the last two years my involvement wasn’t that much. Do you think that these EC’s are good enough for me to be considered at good schools especially like OSU?
Your EC’s are just fine. It is quality that matters, not quantity. Yours do show character and leadership.
