When/how do I find out my dorm assignment?

When/how to I begin paying for the fall semester?

When/how do I know what books to get for the courses I'm taking?

All of these answers have been sent in multiple mailings by NYU (and are online) so I’m surprised you don’t know about them…

This Friday (July 13th.)

Tuition can be paid via Albert. Just log in and you can see the links that guide you there. It’s due by Aug. 8th.

Book requiremets and stuff will be sent out in August.

I haven’t even signed up for my classes yet… my orientation’s not until august and I’ve received no contact about advisement at all. was this in a mailing that I didn’t get or something??

What school are you in? I know Stern opened registration back on June 13th. I’m pretty sure CAS only registers on your set orientation date when you’re actually at NYU.

I’m in Steinhardt. I think most of it happens when I get there but I’d at least like to know where to start. I have the advisement worksheet from the website and i know a lot of it’s my responsibility but I feel like I’m floundering right now.

You need to take a look at the required courses and which ones you want to take fall semester. Don’t go into orientation without thinking about classes ahead of time because then you will feel overwhelmed.

Also, for books, here is how you find out what you need and how to order them.

[How To Find Your Book List: A tutorial through pictures](<a href=“I Go To NYU: How To Find Your Book List: A tutorial through...”>I Go To NYU: How To Find Your Book List: A tutorial through...)

have you been checking your NYU email?

This is a handy schedule that NYU sent out that answers all of your questions. You also got a physical copy mailed home as well: [Getting Started at NYU](<a href=“NYU Welcome”>NYU Welcome)

And if you’re in CAS, we already registered for classes online over a month ago. You got a email from your adviser who would clear you to register after you filled out all the required forms.

And you can actually find out what dorm you will be staying in and what you will owe for the fall semester by going to the bursar’s website via Albert (the same place where you put in your housing deposit) Hope this helps.

Yeah, everyone in Stern, CAS, and Tisch have all registered but I’ve received zero info for Steinhardt and no contact from an advisor. I check my NYU e-mail several times a day. I don’t have any items in my To-Do list and the only Hold I have in the Student Center is “Advisor Approval Required”. I don’t want to add classes before i’m supposed to…

You can start adding classes you’re interested in to your cart. That’ll help you plan out your schedule (although, it’ll likely have to change when they fill up, so prepare backups). The hold will prevent you from being able to proceed from the cart to actual enrollment.

dreamer2012-- Steinhardt doesn’t enroll students until Welcome Week, so other than just looking over what classes you may want to take, don’t worry!

Register students for classes, that is. Sorry for the confusion… I’m sure you’re already enrolled in Steinhardt.

Oh thank you so much, xiziyuza! that is such a relief to hear :)

you should be registered for a steinhardt orientation. Since 2 have taken place already, that leaves August during welcome week. So students who have attended earlier orientations have registered for classes. But spots are being held for August orientation students too.
