wow, we were just talking about height, beauty, etc in pysch class. This girl in my class actually did a project on it, and it amazed me that such people would go to so great lengths to grow taller. btw, here are some links:

What do you guys think, should any short guy get surgery? It's a greuling year long operation. My opinion is that they should, since the worldview isn't gonna change, people will be people. (plus, humans are animals and have animalistic instincts. Just look at how much models make)

In reality, girls are a lot less shallow than guys. You're probably thinking your height is something like a girl who is totally flat. But really, it's not. Girls get past appearance very quickly. As long as you're male and human, you're in the running. Just be really sweet and polite and stuff; we love that. Don't try to be macho; it's not really becoming. And dress well. Being perfectly honest here, you shouldn't have any problem at all.

Happy poo, what do you exactly mean by dress well? Abercrombie or just polos and jeans?

Also to clarify the last post. Be honest means telling a girl how much you love her not being absolutely honest or I would be getting slapped every 5 minutes saying I wanna bone now. :)

I beg to differ, since I have pretty specific physical criterea for guys.

efficientprorastinator, that's easy to say as a girl who's 5'5", but if you were a 5'5" male, I highly doubt you'd be quick to undergo such a procedure.

rolen, I mean basically just looking well put-together. Different guys have different styles, but as long as you wear clean, well-fitting clothes, you're bound to attract someone. Don't sag or wearing shirts 534095840 sizes too big; I personally don't like that.

And I guess different girls have different criteria, of course, but many are attracted more by behavior than appearance.

Another thing I forgot to mention: good posture! I am personally instantly more drawn to a guy who stands up straight than a guy who slouches. It makes you look buffer.

I am really anxious about my reading speed actually of all the things (my height is pretty ok for an International student: 177cm= 59 and I am least concerned about my looks)
It is about 200-250 while the average for college bound students is about 350-375. I have started Triple Your Reading Speed by Wade E. Cutler and How to Read Better and Faster by Norman Lewis but I dont seem to notice any substantial improvement. I have about 50 days to get my act together. I have incurred this upon myself and I will have to deal with it. But I am frustrated every time I make an attempt to generate a sense of urgency or read in lines while reading. Anyone else with the similar problem? Open up!
Also, the academics: I had a very poor preparation for the last two years in high school and I havent had any studies for the last 6 months since the end of school in Nov 2005. I am feeling a bit low. I dont like half-ass perfunctory study and I used to be more of a conscientious, thorough worker. But then I lost it, I dont know why or how. That is why I could not achieve in the last two years the stuffs I shouldve achieved academically. What do you guys suggest me do about my academics and my reading speed.

Reading speed is not so central to success--reading somewhat less but with depth of understanding and good recall will also serve you well.

Sounds to me like you have mild depression--this would affect your concentration--seek out some psychological counseling.

Don't blame your poor hs preparation--as a college student you must learn to educate yourself. Ask for help when you need it and take time everyday to work on subjects that are important for your studies.

where I'm at no one really cares abut height that much. But there are a lot of short people here. You should feel good the hows the weather up there jokes and always being asked how tall are you gets old really really fast
