I feel nervous.

I ran for President of my Interact Club, and today I won. I thought it was going to be awesome and all, until I had to give a speech in front of the group of kids I barely knew addressing what our "plans" were. For one, I felt like I had no idea what to do with the club. Everyone was asking me questions that I really did not have the answer to. I was also saying things that were wrong and the teacher had to correct me on...I basically felt so stupid and unqualified. Has this happened to anyone else elected to a leadership position?

Relax, you’ll grow into it(: Haha, when I was first elected Senior Patrol Leader of my Boy Scout troop (highest youth leader), I was constantly forgetting to do head counts and what not… But you’ll figure it out, and if you need plans, sit down and think about some(:

It happened to me a lot when I was a section leader in both marching band and concert band. That was last year - since then I’ve grown significantly as a leader. Just think how you can improve on yourself and do better next time.

Which do you think is a better strategy? Taking things step-by-step, or looking towards the future? The latter seems more stressful…

Look towards the future to make plans, and then carry those out step by step…(:
