Well congrats for being a perfect human. I am blessed that you would even answer my question, with your competent self…I can’t even believe I get to talk to someone as great as yourself ScienceKidd…You have made my day!

Anyway… for the rest of you guys, I’m not stupid…I just second guessed myself…I knew the answer.

A similar thing happened with my friend these past weeks. She did homework with another friend and the teacher threatened to send them to the principal. She went first and nothing happened. However, the teacher did hate her and when she missed a day and turned her lab in a day late as a result (according to the school handbook, it’s perfectly fine)he gave her a 0. She ended up switching out of the class because he hated her and was determined to fail her. Not meant to panic you…just a warning to be careful around that teacher. But honestly, her teacher was so bad. I highly doubt that will happen to you. All the same, play it safe if you say something.

And it happens all the time. I should really stop doing that.

Do you guys think it’s a good idea to write him a formal letter and put it on his desk? I am so nervous to talk to him. He hasn’t put it in the grade book yet so I have no idea whether he’s even seen it!

You’re right. That would probably be best. Seriously…I don’t think I will ever even look up during a quiz again. I never want to go through all this ever again :-/

don’t listen to ANYONE who tells you cheating is ok!! this is a high school forum you know! tell your teacher

my teacher gave me more points on a test than i actually deserved because she added the points wrong. but i still went back to her the next class and was honest with her and she said since it was her mistake she wouldn’t change it & she appreciated it

just because you all got the same answer doesn’t mean you should snitch on yourself, your teacher probably doesn’t even know you cheated just because you got the same answer?

and if your teacher asks you can just say you thought that was the answer? like why would your teacher not believe you on that? you are overthinking things

smh…

all that matters in the end is what grade you get

Sarcasm… I see right through it. No matter. Lol, I never said I was competent in terms off anything. There is no such thing as being incompetent in general; That doesn’t exemplify the definition. If you cheated, you cheated. No paradox or alternate dimension is going to change that, simply because it isn’t possible.

I second guess myself all the time. Just like on my quiz 3 days ago. Wrote down the correct answer first, erased it and put down the wrong one. It happens

You don’t have to rat yourself out if you don’t want to… especially since it’s worth a few points. Most teachers don’t recognize cheating anyways, and if your particular teacher does catch you, you can easily talk your way out of it.

If you’re really guilt-tripping yourself, you can go ahead and tell them-- but honestly, it’s not that big of a deal.

If its just a small quiz, I wouldn’t tell the teacher unless you feel REALLY bad not telling.

I just came up with an interesting alternative to not telling the teacher: on the next quiz, purposely put the wrong answer to a question. That way, you will lose the points that you deserve to lose.

You’re only hurting yourself by ratting yourself out on something so minor.
I agree that if you feel so bad, purposefully mess up a bit on the next test.
You don’t want your admission revoked.

Good thing you actually feel bad about it. We had an English test that I could’ve just passed by cheating but I got a 68% and there was this girl who’s not even that smart and she cheated off of two people and got an 84% which is completely unfair.
So many times in life you’re so tempted to cheat, but next time think about how it will make you feel. Think about the people who got worse scores compared to the one you cheated to get and they tried their best to get a good score
