to put down that i was a poll worker for the 2008 general election.

two questions:

1) will i be able to add it to the app when updates come around?

2) is it considered community service? (i know it sounds like a stupid question, but they do issue a stipend for having attended the training class and served the full day's work.. comes out to about $100 for near 21 hours of work, 18 of which were done in a row. so if not community service, then what?

thanks

I think you should list it as work experience, just to be safe. It will still look great on your app, and you won’t be risking looking self-righteous to them. Plus, you technically did earn monetary compensation for it.

As for your first question I have no idea!

First, you will not be able to update that piece of information in Jan. (if I remembered correctly), therefore you should give the UCs you are applying to a call about that.

Second, if you are not paid for the hours you worked at the polling place then it is community service. Although they did pay for your training I think that it is still considered community service if you are not paid for the actual hours on the job.

I also have a similar question… I put 30 hours/year of tutoring because it asked for how many hours for the whole year, and I calculated how much it would be the whole year… rather than the 15 hours that I’ve done so for for half a year… I sthis a problem?

no, but your sentence structure is.
