They will send out decisions the week of March 23, and in "late March" you will be able to check your admission status on your PioneerWeb account.

I don't think that 30k a year is only for merit. Yes my 40k is over four years... sorry about the confusion... :P
I didn't have much problem with Grinnell... I had loads with Uni of Chicago (SAT report, etc)... and I was rejected by them :(

and my stats
CR 770 Math 710 Writing 680
GPA 4.0 after midterm (but 3.88 throughout year)
Student Govt, Working as a freelancer, doing two boards at one time (Indian Secondary Certificate and GCE A levels).

Yeah, UChicago's admissions office was a bit out of control this year! Apparently they weren't ready for the huge influx of applicants. My daughter heard today (online) that she was rejected, and the skinny letter came in the mail today, too. Double whammy. She is still waiting to hear from Grinnell, a much better match than UChicago, in my opinion.

Congrats to all of you who have heard and won scholarships. That is truly outstanding, especially this year with a bumper crop of applicants.

Yeah, I got rejected from there yesterday. I could have guessed it when the email was sent to my spam box. However, I have my hopes up for Grinnell and UVa. I really hope I get into either of them. In my opinion Grinnell would be a much better college for me that UChicago. Plus, I think I would get bored quickly simply following my professors around while they do their research. I wish your daughter luck and my the best work out for everyone too.

Haha, we all got rejected from the University of Chicago. I didn't even know that my application was still into them, I guess I forgot to withdraw it since I just went off my list of schools on the CommonApp site.

Really!!! Even I got rejected...
Looks like Grinnell is good enough to recognize us, eh?
;)

Yeah, I sure hope so.

And when will Grinnell notify the rest of us RD applicants?

I've no idea, however I hope that it is really soon. Not knowing where I am going to college is driving me crazy!

i never thought it would be so hard to wait.
I just can't control myself to not looking at every university's website i applied for. Today i did this about several times... haha... Thank God the answer is almost arriving, ohterwise i would get nuts.. u.u

I really think you will know by April 1. I really sympathize with all of you who are waiting. Those few weeks felt like years to me last year. And I started to dislike Sundays because there was no mail! Good luck to all of you.

I have received an email saying that the decisions were mailed on the 3rd week of March. we can check it on pioneer web on Apr 1

Hrm...so according to that, they mailed it last week? When did you receive this email?

quite early. Febrary, i think

i received that too
but it takes ages to international mail arrive where I leave.. so I believe i'll just see my decision on April 1st
¬¬

It seems as though ours is taking forever and a day to arrive also.

I got in today. 40k merit scholarship and a free plane ticket.... Grinnell is definately high on my radar now.

Hey, I didn't get a plane ticket. :( Now I'm all jealous. I'm guessing you got it for the admitted student reception stuff in April, eh?

Because someone wanted stats for the early writes, here you go. I was an early write (+$10,000/year):

-White female
-Missouri
-GPA: 92.59, don't know 4.0 scale. Upward trend. 96.55 GPA for first semester of senior year.
-ACT: 31 (35 English, 31 Reading, 31 Science, 27 Math.)
-6 APs, 2 honors classes. Would have been 5 honors + 6 APs, but moved during sophomore year.
-EC's: School newspaper (Editor-in-Chief), literary magazine (Editor-in-Chief), National Honor Society (secretary), Mock Trial, volunteering @ public library.

I think the reason I received an early write was that I had a very good interview and my essays made it clear that Grinnell was a great fit. I'm really happy about this acceptance because Grinnell is an amazing school and I definitely felt that "click" when I visited :)
