It'd be great to hear some opinions, thanks!

Recs Should be good, essays should be solid

lol, does that make you half-white? Not really a URM is it?..

Well, I’m 1/4 Mexican, 1/4 Spanish, 1/4 German, and a little Native American/and like Scotish I think

But my last name is Gomez, my extended family is poor/mostly Mexican, So I identify with this ethnicity the most…

So, I’m not really sure if I qualify as a full URM, but it might help :- /

dude just put hispanic on your college app. if i were you i would drop uc san diego. ur going to get into uc davis and ucla. chance me in return? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/588723-have-fun-chancing-me-will-chance-return.html</a>

UC San Diego - Safety
UCLA - Low Safety
UC Berkeley - High Match (SAT score)
Stanford - Reach
Cornell - Low Reach
Washington University in St. Louis - Reach
Brown - Low Reach
Harvard - Reach
Princeton - Reach
Yale - Reach

I still haven’t finalized my list of colleges yet…so I’d like to add:

JHU
Boston College
Rice University

ok so u have decent stats first in school etc. and ur list of colleges were reasonable at first then it was like cornell brown harvard princeton yale.
you are going to have a tough time getting close to those

The Ivies are a bit of a stretch due to your SAT’s, but not impossible. I think you’ll probably get into Boston College.

UC San Diego - Match
UCLA - Match/Slight Reach (SAT scores)
UC Berkeley - Slight Reach (SAT scores)
Stanford - Reach
Cornell - Slight Reach (SAT scores)
Washington University in St. Louis - Reach
Brown - Reach
Harvard - Reach
Princeton - Reach
Yale - Reach

For UCLA and UC Berkeley it depends on your school. I know some schools where a lot of kids get in, but at my school only one or two get in and they usually have over 2100 SATs. Your URM status might void your low SAT scores and then you would have a good chance at any of those schools.

My school has sent 3-7 kids to UCLA/Berkeley per year. They are usually the top of the class and have similiar test scores to mine. Last year, all 3 Valids got into UCLA/and or Berkeley. But, my year seems to be really competitive…

Thanks for all the input, any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

bump 10char

Huh? I always thought it as easier to get in WashU than Brown and Cornell…
Anyhow, your URM status and your good grades are certainly helping you…
Do you have time left to retake the SATs? You have to get that math score up
to be in the range for HYPS etc.
