I go in-state to Virginia Tech, but I got a secure transfer pathway to Georgia Tech. Worth it?

Ah I see. Duly noted.

I am a parent and all 3 of my girls went to GT. My youngest was also a CS major. (My husband went to VT for grad school PhD.) I understand what you are saying about the CS program, but $100k is not worth it IMO. In the end, it’s not about what school or program, it’s about your experience that gets you the job. I cannot recommend enough getting real experience. My daughter started co-oping the first summer after her first year of CS. (CS is like the only major where you can do that.) She got a co-op position at SunTrust Bank doing cyber security. She then alternated every other semester co-op vs classes including summers. She did 3 semesters with SunTrust and then applied for internships for the summer after junior year. Her GPA was not as stellar as other applicants (still not bad), but she got the highly sought after internship interviews and offers due to her actual work experience that the others just didn’t have. My point here is that no matter where your program, get the work experience and you’ll be golden.

this is an easy one. NO. Do not transfer. VT is a great school and you are in the honors college and are happy with your social life. Don’t saddle yourself with that kind of debt. No reason.
