I got 1510 on October, and this really ****es me off. Maybe I didn't prepare well.
So could you please give me any advice or plan for a 2000+ score?

same score

Desperate people!
Please sit aside.

I personally do not think such thing is possible. I think you can get around 1800~1900 at best. The best way is to check out with bluebook tests. It is pretty accurate.

After all it depends on how much you practice (boring cliches but true)

I disagree with the above poster.
Personally speaking my first “practice SAT” was around 1300 and my PSAT projected my score to be around 1400. However, after months of studying I scored 2000(2040 superscored). If you study alot, 2000+ is possible. Good luck!

@BlueGuitar you are wrong. It is completely possible for you to score above a 2000, but ONLY if you put your mind to it, and practice like crazy. Give yourself 5 months, if you’re a junior. Look at when the March SAT is. THAT IS YOUR DEADLINE. Get the Blue Book, Direct Hits Vol 1 and Vol 2, Gruber’s SAT 2400. Study the living hell out of those books, every letter, every number, ever line. For the Direct Hits books, write all the difficult words on flashcards. Study 50 of them every week. That means you do 7-10 per day, and testing yourself on those at the end of every week. For reading comprehension, nothing can ever make you improve more than constantly practicing. Read a lot, it helps.
For math, do several practice tests, look at your mistakes, and figure out the easy way to do them. For writing, essays only get better through practice, and for MC Writing, learn ALL the vocab rules.

You want to do it, you can do it, and you will do it.
Good luck my friend :)

^^^^^ exactly what I did. 2000 is possible

Thank you all guys!
You really made my day.
I’ll do my best, wish me luck!

I got a 1600 on my PSAT and went up to 2040. SAT is just a bs test you have to get used to.

I hope you understand how much time and dedication getting that score is going to take. When others here say you’ll have to study a lot, it’s no understatement. If you want that score you should be ordering extra practice tests from The Princeton Review and Kaplan, and taking those and the blue book ones every weekend. Vocab during the week. Reading SAT books to learn all the little writing rules and math concepts you missed.

It’s very possible but I’m scared from your positive reply that you don’t realize just how much an undertaking you have here.

Good luck man

^ whyd you do tests from princeton review and kalpan if there are tons of practices tests out there from collegeboard?

Look at it this way- if you are a 1500 student and someone waves a magic wand and send you to 2000+ college you are going to get slaughtered. Those colleges are paced faster and deeper than what you are used to.

You are better off going to the ‘right’ school. If you are able to follow insidious’s advice then a 2000 is the right school, if you feel you can keep up that pace.
