I got a 1 on Physics B

I'm really upset. REALLY upset. My physics teacher was my favorite teacher, and now I feel like I let him down. I think he expected me to pass. But he didn't cover everything on the test. I'd say a good 25% of the exam was completely unknown to me.

What will colleges think? I got an A in the class both semesters, but a 1 on the exam. What do I do?

I'm ****ed. I could've sworn I got at least a 2.

I also got 2s on both the econs. This is so depressing.

Should I even report my scores to colleges?

I got 4s on English Lang and US Govt, a 5 on Human Geo, and 3s on Calc AB and US Hist.

You can choose to not send in your AP score for physics but colleges basically see it as you getting a 1 or 2 anyway. If you got an A in the class then it throws up a red flag for grade inflation.

I can't help that some teachers inflate grades. It's not like all teachers do it.

take this as a lesson not to trust your teachers.

It's not like I can self-study physics either. lawl

I was good at what my teacher taught. But what he taught did not correlate well with the exam.

Whatever, it's not like I'm applying to ive league schools. I just want to get into UF. That's all.

Could I explain it to colleges? Do you think they will be able to figure it out?

physics b is actually not too hard to self study for. the pass rate at my school (3 or higher) was pretty bloody low. but a couple of us who lol memorized formulas and skimmed the modern phys, e/m stuff (which my teacher didnt touch on) did just fine on the test (5). but yea, i'm a little surprised that even though you knew that the teacher failed to cover some of the material, you didnt take the chance to take a brief look at some of the other topics.

You don't need to explain. Just don't put it down.

And anyone can self-study AP Physics B. It's not that hard; Just get a PR or Kaplan.

Well for me it is, okay.

Colleges shouldn't hold me completely accountable for my scores. What's the point of teachers then? lulz

I shouldn't be expected to study all of physics B all on my own, especially while trying to study for 5 other exams.

This really sucks. I'm going to visit UF soon. I'll ask for advice from an advisor or someone.

do colleges even give credit for physics B? i thought it was the easiest of all the aps.

not to make you feel bad...

It won't matter in the end. I go to UF and got a 5 on that test, and I ended up not using the credit because there's only so many credits you can get over there (30)

THANKS, rub it in my face why dontcha'.

It counts for introductory physics. I don't need the credits. I'm just scared the score is going to hurt my chances. I did very well on other exams. ahhhh

What's your intended major? And are you going to be there in the fall?

no offense, but you could/should study on your own in the future...my teachers are insanely good at saying we "don't need to study-"prepared us enough"...my APUSH teacher tried to say that prep books were evil or some such nonsense...so I just ignored it and studied. So enough my AP USH teacher told us that Benjamin Franklin was a president (he wasn't...), I got a 5.

they will probably think you were just sick, if you did well (3+) on your other exams...if you are really worried, then take the SAT II in october for physics and ace it.

(888) 308-0013

this number is disconnected. How did you get your score?

Try dialing a 1 in front. The number on the packet is 1 888 308 0013

I thought about it, but I really don't want to relearn all of physics in a few months. haha

I could have been sick. Good point. They wouldn't know.

Colleges don't care about your ap grades...by giving you credit...they're losing money.
