I Got A 2 On Ap Chem!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I know it's a terrible score and I probably shouldn't report it considering I want to be a Chemistry Major. For the UCs, (specifically LA and Berkeley) how bad is this? How about for the Ivies? If I don't report it, what will colleges think? I don't really have an excuse, I just wasn't prepared and my teacher wasn't the greatest either. What do you advise me to do? Change my major and report it? Don't report it, but keep my major? What will adcosm think??????

It doesn't make that big of a difference. AP grades are a little "bonus" and they can really only help you in the admission process.

Bump Up My Post

I got a 2 on my AP us History and a 3 on my AP Chem. I had no other AP scores. I chose not to report either score in my applications and I did just fine - I got into every college I applied to (except waitlisted at one), including 2 Ivies.

So this is all to say- I wouldn't worry about it. At all.

My friend got a 1 on AP Chemistry :P

^ My friend got a 1, too. Did I mention he's top 5% of his class?

The AP Chem exam can be absolutely brutal without a good teacher.

^ in addition, it can be brutal if we don't read the textbook! (personal experience =/ )

I read exactly one page in my textbook and got a 4 XD

We didn't go over everything on the test...one of the FR questions was ouch...

maybe you should consider not being a chem major. Bad teacher is no excuse. Learning material by yourself is one of the greatest indicators of potential in a field.
