ACT: 30
E: 26
M: 28 (I had to guess the last 5 because I ran out of time. Should be an easy fix.)
R: 33
S: 33
Do practice tests, work on time management, check all your wrong answers and see why they were wrong.
Work especially on E and M.
Do you know what the best way to improve E is?
I haven’t looked at an ACT test recently, around here the SAT is mostly taken.
Can you refresh what kind of things are in the English part of the test? Sentence completion?
I did a google search for improving E on Act and it came up with several sites. See if any are helpful
Surprisingly, I think studying for the Writing section of the SAT has a lot of transfer over. I would do practice tests, of course, but of all the sections, the English section can be most “gamed”. Choosing the shortest answer for the fill-in-the-blanks is generally the correct one.
Right now you’re at a 30.0 average, so you need just 6 more subscore points to get a 32 (rounded up from 31.5 average). Fortunately, the English section is the easiest one to improve by studying all the grammar rules, so you should aim for a 30 in both E and M. If you want a 33, you’ll probably have to improve the R and S also, but those are harder to improve much.
