I was wondering if i Can still apply to any CSU or UC even though i got a d in one semester of Geometry… and also a d in one semester of Algebra 2, but i got an A in Precal. I’m retaking the courses but I’ll probably finish around early December but the applications are due Nov 30, so yeah. idk i read through the a-g requirements and i came across this so i was just curious, “A grade of C or better in Trigonometry or Pre-calculus validates the entire high school college preparatory requirement”. Any help would be useful.

For CSU’s: getting a C or higher in a Higher level Math course will validate the D’s in the lower Math courses. 2nd semester grade of C or higher will validate the 1st semester grade of a D or F.
-
For UC’s: getting a C or higher in a Higher level Math course will not validate a D or F in Geometry(2nd semester) but a C or higher in 2nd semester Geometry will validate the 1st semester D or F.

Since you have not successfully completed the repeats on the D’s, your D’s will be included in the UC/CSU GPA calculation. So what is your UC/CSU GPA? http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Another issue I see is that you will be unable to update the UC’s and CSU’s with your repeat course grades since Senior grades are not used in their GPA calculation or for admission decision purposes. An exception would be if the UC’s send you a supplemental asking for these grades but this is not guaranteed.
In summary, you may not qualify for the UC’s unless your D in Geometry was 1st semester and you passed 2nd semester. You do meet the a-g course requirements for the CSU’s but the D’s will impact your GPA, so top CSU’s are probably not an option. If you do qualify for the UC’s, UCR/UCM might be the only UC’s to look past the D’s on your transcript if you meet the a-g course requirements, so again top schools are not possible.
Much will depend upon your Stats: UC/CSU GPA/ACT/SAT/EC’s and essays. Do you have a valid explanation for the low grades??
Are you instate for California and have a regional CSU? That would help.

For CSUs, C or higher in precalculus validates the entire math requirement. The same applies for UCs, except that omission of a geometry course cannot be validated. Page 17 of the last link has a footnote that says " A yearlong geometry course (or a math course with geometry content) must be completed; higher-level math courses will only validate a grade deficiency (D or F) earned in a geometry course."
