I got a D

I applied and received for a TAG Agreement for most of the UCs. i completed all my igetc courses with passing grades. However, i took a calculus class this semester and received a D in the course. My GPA is exactly at a 3.0 however my math GPA has dropped below a 2.5. My english and science gpa's are well above the required 2.5. Is this gonna affect my tag agreements? If so, is there anyway i can rectify the situation? For example, take other math courses to raise my math gpa? PLEASE HELP!!! i'm so worried!

Well it depends… Have you passed a UC-transferable math course before the calc class? You have to have at least one done before the Fall '10 semester for TAG.

It does not appear that taking Math classes is an effective means of raising your GPA. If you have not successfully completed your required UC transferable Math course or more Math courses are a prerequisite for your major you do not have much choice and will have to take more Math courses. If not, there does not appear any need for any more Math classes unless there is some reason to believe that the D in Calculus was an aberration and that you will get good grades in Math in the future.

yes i have completed a transferable math coure prior to the calculus class… so how will i be affected?

Most likely your TAG will be revoked due to your gpa dropping below a 3.0 for that semester thus making you stay another year. Your friends and parents will then ask you why aren’t u transferring this year and all you can say is I failed math and now u have wait another year. Then you will drop out and work for about tree fiddy an hour.

hey pianocat, pity you can’t read! i said my GPA is still at a 3.0. Find something better to do.

^^

lolumad?

Yeah u mad.

Not having TAG does not automatically mean denied admission

pianocat has fail asian parents that failed miserably at parenting.

Ew, pianocat, not necessary.
