Well i received it in the mail today and was pretty surprised considering that I only had a 3.6 weighted GPA and a 1800 SAT.... and I am an OOS... well international student...
I said that I my intended major was materials science... and they offered me a $1000 scholarship...

they said that I have to stay matriculated in MatSE to get the Froberg scholarship, but what does that exactly mean?
I mean like, the first year i will be studying what everyone else does and not doing anything related to MatSE right?
Also, if I say that ill stay "matriculated", what if i decide to switch majors sometime in the future? say like end of freshmen? can I do that?

Also, when do i really get affiliated with a branch, if i choose to... is that beginning of sophomore?

yea im surprised too… but i applied during priority… like nov 5 or something
then i got accepted in December, but they just mailed it to me today…

It sounds like you got the scholarship from the department, not the university. It sounds like accepting the money obligates you to major in that department.
