for not stopping at a red light and told the officer i have to use the bathroom bad! i was close to home so i pulled in my drive way..he didnt care about my excuse and told me he had 5 speeding tickets when he was young and he learned from it so that i shouldn't worry.

That might be hard to get out of, but just go fight it. Usually if the officer doesn't show up then you can get it thrown out or you can do a driving improvement class for it to not go on your record.

I think you have to pay the fine (I'm not sure about that part) and tell them that you'd like a court date (You have to ask, they don't just give you one when you pay). Just call the courthouse and ask them what you'd need to do if you wanted to fight a ticket. You might end up having to pay some fees, but why not try?

^ I think that they are trying to say that they ran it because they had to pee.

The reason I said to go to court is to try to keep it off their driving record. A lot of times you can pay the fine (it might be reduced) and take a class to have it not show it. If the OP said that they ran it because they had to pee, they'd be laughed at. The OP just needs to try to do something to keep it from going on their driving record (never having a previous ticket helps in getting this)

you're going to pay either way. if you really don't want it on your record, get a laywer. i got a ticket for going 107 in a 70 (yeah i know, i've heard it all more than a few times). got a lawyer, i didn't have to go to court. he worked his magic, pleaded nolo; $300 fine, no points, no traffic school, no increase in insurance. got off very easy

i know i have to pay i dont even know why i made this thread....you never know maybe some one might have given me some info that would get me out

go to court....you will either get a lesser fine or the same thing...you don't lose anything except for maybe 1 hour of your life...you should always take all tickets to court...it' fun too...

what she said. i don't know if it's the same in every county, but i know that here even if you win your case and get the ticket dismissed, you still have to pay court costs.
