I got accepted at both UF and UCF

I don’t know which college to pick between UF and UCF. I decided to do Computer Engineering and I don’t know which college would be great for me .

I think UCF has a bit of a leg up in computer engineering, I’m just basing that on the students I know who have been choosing UCF specifically for that major. UF is a great school “overall” but UCF is very strong when it comes to the computer field.

Look at the curriculum and spot the differences, then decide which matter and in what way.
Also: How flexible are they? What electives or tracks are offered? Ease of adding a cs minor?
(If you can’t find the answer on their website, email the department-be very polite).
How many classes would you have to take online? How large are the introductory classes? How many students start in the major freshman year and how are still in the major junior year - calculate the ratio and see how weedout the major is.

I have to differ with Trisherella here, but UF computer engineering is a highly rated nationally recruited program. It’s one of the strongest programs at UF. It’s one of the reasons why companies like Microsoft and Intel recruit at UF. In fact, Intel often shows up on list, as a top 10 recruiter (based on the number of UF grads hired) at UF.

Check out the UF graduation survey results (you can pick Computer Engineering as an option).

Good Luck!

UCF campus is neighbors with the 4th largest research park nationally. Wondering about internships- seems like internships would be really easy for UCF students.

UF. It’s not even close. Recruiting at UF is far superior in computer science and engineering. The quality of education at both is very good (I’m sure), but this is UF’s strong suit and has been attracting national firms for quite some time. UCF has more of a regional appeal.

I suggest looking at what the CS/Comp Engr. students say about their own school with respect to UF. Maybe check the UF Reddit forum for more info.
