Haha, I know someone else who did that too. So much for originality.

This is such a cute idea, and very fun to read.
I did not apply to any Ivies, but when I was accepted to Rice I figured it was either because of my rigorous courseload or my essay about a sock monkey named Mr. Bo Jangles.
But after first semester, and meeting the kid who won the Intel scholarship with an essay about using DNA to solve math problems, ask anyone in the freshmen class and we would all have told you that we must have been the admissions mistake! :)

Because I'm tall, not too tall, but tall enough.

or maybe some other reason

I got accepted to Stanford for all the times I stayed up late to get it right; practiced, rehearsed, and gave it my all; studied something because I loved it, not because it would be on the test; took a risk instead of following the easy path; volunteered my time, talent, and energy..for all that I was accepted :)

Haha, my name is in sanskrit as well.

My daughter also showed a
real interest in the classics.
Back in Oct 05 she received
an email from one of the
professors in the classic dept.
encouraging her to apply to
Brown. Did you get something
similar? BTW, she didn't apply.
Cornell & Penn instead. If she
gets in I'll post why she got
accepted. Ya'll gonna be surprised.

Several foreign languages + overseas study + top prizes in my class + major accomplishment (12 yrs each) in 2 EC's (one of which is rare for an Ivy applicant) + accomplishing all this with economically deprived background, over wealthier students in my class. Am also focused & specialized in my academic interests; application reflected that. Esp. committed to classics, too (as you might guess).
