I have an issue... a confidence issue in this case...

You see, I applied to my colleges and all, sent my envelopes and whole 9 yards for college however it's the acceptance that I am worried about.

I'm sure you guys have either used or heard of Naviance, and ever college I looked at and applied to was based on everything by Naviance but I just need to know a straight forward answer-

I applied to these schools -

University of Alabama
University of Tennessee
Marshall University
Eastern CT State
UConn
East Carolina University*

- Debating, most likely to apply there

On my SATs I got a score of 1480 (yeah I know it's bad)

My GPA is a 2.78 (w) and 2.61 (uw)

I am part Hispanic (Mexican actually), the rest of me is "white"

I wrote my college essay on gaining responsibilities and independence based on personal experience

I am from and live in Connecticut

With this given Info, could I get an indication as to whether or not my admission chances are good?

I don’t know about the other schools since I never looked into them, but UConn’s a reach, unless you happen to have recruits looking at you for basketball. Uconn seems to love their Huskies. Anyway, why don’t you look into community college? You’ll save SO MUCH money, and you’ll do well, since you’ll be more determined to do your work. Then transfer to UConn, since it’s your state university and is fairly well respected for a public university. I go to community college due to financial reasons, and I’m kind of glad I did.

Okay, let me give you an estimate of how much you can save at cc…

UConn’s about 20 grand in state, between room and board and tuition. 4 years at UConn? 80 grand.

Community college? About 3.5 grand. So 7 the first two years, and another 2 years at UConn means 47 grand. I dunno about UConn, but if you do well in CC in my state, you get a partial tuition reduction at our state university.

Yes, you’ll get some financial aid, but still. It’s totally worth it. Seriously consider it.

Sorry if this will discourage you, but I think you would be better off going to a community college for 2 years. Work your butt off there, then try to transfer to one of these schools.

Don’t worry, I promise that in the long run, if you succeed at a CC, you’ll end up doing far better than you would have by just going to one of your lower choices. Good luck!

i think you will deff get into marshall as well as eastern ct state i personally would go to one of these over a community college if i were you. both are good schools

But why, when he could save money and go to UConn in two years? Not that there’s anything wrong with what you’re saying. What makes them better than CC?

You have a good point. But since it’d be a Connecticut community college, there are agreements with public CT schools, like Eastern CT or UConn.
