I got an acceptance letter

you might get it next week.

Any word for transfers???? ah, it's killing me.

i still havent received anything either. pretty ridiculous and rude. obviously, (most) non acceptances come later. why would they go out of their way to lie about it?

Can we please be a tad more optimistic? Why wouldn't they reject us first? I don't know, I live in CA, so maybe that's why it's taking longer? who knows. Transfer housing is tight, so maybe they really do hate us.

PS, I know that response is all over the place, but the process has made me a walking mental case.

PSS, Fordham Website: "Students who apply as Fall transfers should apply by July 1st. Students will be notified approximately two weeks after receipt of all supporting documentation."

..........2 weeks, my...butt. I applied in November.

Waitlisted. Female legacy with a 3.5 gpa, all honors/AP classes for four years, great essay (according to everyone who read it), many, many ECs.
SATs: 750CR, 710W, 500 Math.

I really don't understand how I got waitlisted.

To incoming frosh still waiting: All decisions were mailed, it's up to your mail carrier now to deliver.

All decision letters have been mailed out last week. Please await for your postal mail. Financial aid packages will also arrive shortly if you have submitted your CSS Profile components and FAFSA documents are submitted on time.

To kcs09 and other Transfer students: the deadline for Transfer students is July 1, and thus, we will not start reviewing them until May and June when the current application cycle is finished.

::sigh:: I had a feeling that would be the case (only dissappointed because most SIRs & deposits for CA schools are due on May 1st). Thank you for your response. Good luck to the incoming Freshman!!!!! It should be an exciting week! :)

My son is going to let Fordham know right away on Monday that he isn't going. I think it is more polite than letting the college wait until May 1. He was accepted to Princeton. I wish all of you on the waitlist good luck and don't give up. Fordham is a great school. Let them know you have a passion for the school and the area you want to study in.

Kcs09,

Since you are applying as a transfer student, make sure you submit your current spring transcript when you get your grades. Without that, the application remains incomplete.

I was waitlisted
Look at my stats profile for stats

My D was waitlisted and denied from the Theatre program...heartbroken! To make matters worse, her boyfriend and another girl from her school got in with worse GPAs (they were the only 3 from her prep school who applied) and not as many extracurriculars. FWIW, the postmark date was Wednesday, March 28th (we were told all went out on Monday) and we received it on Saturday in Atlanta. I'm guessing the odds of her getting off the waitlist are slim to none and now it's back to the drawing board for theatre schools with rolling admissions. She's expecting waitlist/rejections now from the other 2 schools and hopefully a yes from her safety. I'm disappointed in Fordham letting some students know by mail 2 weeks ago and then notifying all acceptances by e-mail on Monday. Why don't all of these schools do like the Ivies and post online to save the agony of this damned mailbox thing?

dude its so crazy. i have a 98 average and a 1980 on the SATs. i know kids with or lower than my average who got in to fordham, it's insane. oh well, at least i got to BU [where i'll probably end up going].

Just as a reminder, there is no guarantee to get into any college with a high SAT or better GPA. The stats we provide are the median numbers. If that was so, many high scoring SAT students would get into many of the competitive schools; in addition, diversity is a factor. About extracurriculars, one should be consistent and should not be jumping from one field to another. Everything is taken into consideration.

Fordham won't send me my financial aid package until i turn in a non-custodial parent financial form. That is so dumb considering the fact that some people dont have a second parent.

i still havent heard

I just got my acceptance letter into fordham, i had a 3.0 gpa and a 1170 on my SAts

jeff2italia what ec's did you have?
