I got an email from UCLA admission dep

They said I need to send some documents that i mentioned in my applicaiton,,
so,, is this good sign to me?

I think it just means that they are still in work.

what sort of documents?

As I understand it, when UCLA asks for verification they are doing so because your application could go either way: rejection/accepted (the borderline situation). So, it is absolutely imperative that those forms are sent in -- your admission may depend on it.

I took chinese language service at chinese university in China 4years ago, but I just mentioned it in my application essay,,,

Yea, it sounds like the situation I described above.

My GPA is 4.0 and I have TAP certification.. and I completed all requirements except one english class (Im taking now..) so I think im not on borderline..

I am just extrapolating based on the information you gave me; from what I have seen, these requests are only for borderline applicants. But, your case it could be different, since it's in regards to a course. Actually, now that I think of it, it could just be that they want all of your college work be sent in.

Did you list your enrollment / units earned at that university in your UC application aside from the essay?

Perhaps they took it to be as unwillingness to report transcripts from all colleges attended. If you didn't mention it in your list of colleges but wrote about it in your essay, they might have seen that as strange. But no big deal, if you did relatively well, you should definately be admitted.

P.s. A friend of mine got a similar email from UCSB requesting specifically for her math grade. We have reached the conclusion that it's bc she had received a C in Intermediate Algebra the previous semester.

Yea I just said I took chinese language service in China university but they misunderstanded it that I took some academic courses in anther universty :X

It wasn't a course in which you received college credit, then?

Ohhhh. Call them soon. lol.

YOu should defintely get that cleared up because if they think you attended a university you may be subject to the unit max.

I know ~~ so,, I will send my chinese language certification from that university ..It is just like same as ELS class which international students take in the U.S,,there is no grade :X

Yes, but was there any credit awarded?

Yea.. their business hour is..1pm to 4pm.....I got this mail when I came back home at 4:07 !!!!!darn!!!

nope there is no credit.. because it is academic institution in that university but it is not a course in that university....

Yes, you need to call AND you should email.

To be honest, that did not seem like a nice email.

They just want to verify your records.
