Overnight Stay Program (OSP), hosted by the Alumni Scholars Association?

What's the deal with this? I already submitted my money for the Overnight Host Program (the $55 one right before Cal Day) - is this program any different?

I know they state that it has no bearing on my scholarship app, but.....?

Wait, you paid $55 for the Overnight Host Program?
When were you told to make a payment, because I haven't received any word from them since I RSVP'd.
Also, I thought that the program is supposed to be completely free since it said on the website, The program is free to those who are selected to participate and includes the cost of transportation, meals, and accommodations.

It's free for some people (those who've done outreach, those who come from "low-performing" high schools, and those that are low income - basically people that wouldn't otherwise be able to afford the trip...

My myEvents page info says: How to sign-up for OHP:
1. RSVP for your selected program date on the RSVP page.
2. Print and read the OHP registration and waiver of liability form.
3. Return your signed registration and waiver with a $55 check made out to UC Regents to:

After you sent in your RSVP and waiver form, did you get any reply from Cal?
I got an email that they received the RSVP, but there's no word about the waiver form or any additional information.

Does anybody know where we can call or email to ask questions about the OHP?

Just to clarify a couple of things... these programs are invite-only, which means if you qualified for the scholarship as a semifinalist or finalist, you were invited to attend the program.

OHP = Regents
OSP = Alumni

For alumni scholars, OSP has no bearing whatsoever on your scholarship. I'm a scholar and most alumni scholars I've met have never been to OSP. Some didn't even know what it was about. It's definitely worth going if you are in a dilemma. I was in the Cal v. LA pool and the program definitely changed my perspective. If you haven't visited Cal, you should sign up for this program as well. Just to let you know, last year it was incredibly difficult to get a spot. They opened registration at noon on a Sunday and everyone scrambled online, which dramatically slowed down the server. I hope they've changed this, but if they haven't, this is just a forewarning for you guys so you don't have to go through something unexpected like that. If you've been to OHP, I wouldn't recommend you to go to OSP cause the programs are kind of similar. I met OHP people on my OSP program and both groups do dining, housing, alumni/student panels, etc. And $90?! They definitely jacked up the price, but it was probably to accomodate a better program this year.

Hmm... I did not get regrents or anything like that but had on my cal page about the OHP so I jumped on it. it cost 55 dollars... looked pretty fun

what the? i thought OHP (not OSP) was only $15 for regents people (which includes a T shirt or something?) and you pay there? i got the regents invitation and signed up for OHP a month or so ago.. could anyone please clarify? thanks
