I got an emaill...is this a good sign??

Dear Muhammad,

Thanks for applying to Emory University. There are many great institutions to choose among during your academic search, and we’re excited you have selected our school. We are in the process of reviewing all applications and will post decisions by April 1. In the meantime, we’d like to share more information about what’s happening on campus.

Every school has a legend that represents the spirit of its campus. We have Dooley, Emory’s unofficial, skeletal mascot and a most cherished student tradition. Each spring we honor his presence with Dooley’s Week, which dates back to 1909 and encompasses several campus-wide events, culminating in an annual ball.

During Dooley’s Week, this “spirit” roams University halls playing pranks, greeting students, and making several surprise visits. Ask any student, and chances are they’ll reveal their favorite Dooley sighting as the unscheduled classroom appearance during which Dooley excuses students from class to join him in more of his on-campus adventures. Even if you don’t get a chance to meet and greet Dooley during this week, he finds time to visit other major campus events throughout the year.

Dooley’s Week is a rite of passage for our students where memories are made and stories are shared. What will yours be? Find out more about Dooley’s Week by emailing a current student.

Is this a good sign..did everyone get this letter?

Pretty sure it doesn’t mean anything.

i didnt get one

did you apply to emory blah?

I didn’t get one either.

yes i did apply to emory

I got one–I’m pretty sure it doesn’t indicate anything. Everyone check your SPAM blockers, I’m sure everyone who applied was supposed to receive one.

I just got one like 2 seconds ago..it doesn’t sound like anything special…

i got the email even though i already got in

i still did not receive any email. i hope this isnt a sign!

I believe it is just an update about campus activities to keep your interest. Son has already received his acceptance letter yet the wording on the email is very generic stating that notices will be posted by April 1st.

Was your son an ED I or II applicant? Or an Emory Scholar?

I will be shocked if RD notices have already gone out.

accepted through emory scholar, and momof3boyz’s son is prob emory scholar too.

I got one feb 26, the first paragraph is identical to what you got, but the rest was about different events than what you got.

I dnt think it means n e thing though

Yea I got that email too, but it was awhile ago

Did you notice the disclaimer on the bottom of the e-mail?

"* This email is for information purposes only and does not indicate acceptance to Emory. Applications submitted by mail may take ten to fifteen business days to process. "

Clearly, the e-mail is no “sign” at all.

Speaking of Dooley’s Week, how big of a thing is it anyways? Scholars Finalist Weekend coincides on the same dates. Would we notice any thing going on, or is it relatively low-key?

Also, is anybody else experiencing a long wait for OPUS to update the receipt of tax forms? I sent mine not quite a month ago and OPUS still hasn’t recognized them (EDI BTW).

means absolutely nothing, is a mass email. sorry

To answer Joli’s question, DS applied RD and is an Emory Scholar. He did not make the finalist selection.

yeah, same with me^

I got the email today as well
