Thanks for applying to Emory University. There are many great institutions to choose among during your academic search, and were excited you have selected our school. We are in the process of reviewing all applications and will post decisions by April 1. In the meantime, wed like to share more information about whats happening on campus.

Every school has a legend that represents the spirit of its campus. We have Dooley, Emorys unofficial, skeletal mascot and a most cherished student tradition. Each spring we honor his presence with Dooleys Week, which dates back to 1909 and encompasses several campus-wide events, culminating in an annual ball.

During Dooleys Week, this spirit roams University halls playing pranks, greeting students, and making several surprise visits. Ask any student, and chances are theyll reveal their favorite Dooley sighting as the unscheduled classroom appearance during which Dooley excuses students from class to join him in more of his on-campus adventures. Even if you dont get a chance to meet and greet Dooley during this week, he finds time to visit other major campus events throughout the year.

Dooleys Week is a rite of passage for our students where memories are made and stories are shared. What will yours be? Find out more about Dooleys Week by emailing a current student.

Is this a good sign..did everyone get this letter?

I got one–I’m pretty sure it doesn’t indicate anything. Everyone check your SPAM blockers, I’m sure everyone who applied was supposed to receive one.

I believe it is just an update about campus activities to keep your interest. Son has already received his acceptance letter yet the wording on the email is very generic stating that notices will be posted by April 1st.

Did you notice the disclaimer on the bottom of the e-mail?

"* This email is for information purposes only and does not indicate acceptance to Emory. Applications submitted by mail may take ten to fifteen business days to process. "

Speaking of Dooley’s Week, how big of a thing is it anyways? Scholars Finalist Weekend coincides on the same dates. Would we notice any thing going on, or is it relatively low-key?

Also, is anybody else experiencing a long wait for OPUS to update the receipt of tax forms? I sent mine not quite a month ago and OPUS still hasn’t recognized them (EDI BTW).
