I got an interview, but I never asked for an interview, and I applied after 12/20

What does this mean? Does it mean that I'm on the boarderline (of accept/decline) and my interview will decide whether I get accepted or not?

I don’t think so. I applied after that date, had an interview and it went very well. My SAT scores don’t match up to duke, but I hope my other factors can pull me up!

Duke tries to give interviews to as many applicants as possible. Getting an interview has nothing to do at all with the your application. All it means is that they have enough alumni interviewers available where you live to be able to offer you an interview.

Thanks guys…

It’s quite the opposite for me LOL. My SAT scores and grades are relatively high, even for duke, but my “other factors” are lacking xD

It probably means that they have a surplus of alumni interviewers in your area, so they can interview people who applied after the deadline.
Basically, your interview only matters if it goes really well or if it goes terribly. It’s a time for them to learn a little more about you and you about them.
