Hi,
I am a grade 11 student and i am very worried about my selection in a good US university now.

My school is affiliated with the CBSE board.
In grade 10, I got a CGPA of 9.4, and since we changed cities this year, I took time to settle down and as a result, my first term percentage was just 71.

However, I didn't fail in any subject, my lowest was 60% in Chemistry and Math was highest at 80%

In CBSE, most students' grades generally fall badly when they come to 11th; I know of people who got a perfect 10 in grade 10 and are struggling with 52% now.

My mock SAT scores aren't going above 2040 right now, and I'm really worried, because I want to get into the top colleges like Stanford, UCB, Carnegie Mellon and Cornell for engineering.

As for the EC's, I have represented my previous school in numerous quizzes and a few tournaments, I have certificates in Guitar and Keyboard, I currently am a member of the student council in my new school, and I have been selected to attend a few leadership workshops from school also.

Please tell me if I have any chances of making it to my dream colleges, or should I just give up?

My biggest concern is that many people in my new school have scored more than me, and they are planning to apply abroad too.

Thank you!
