I got D grade before transferring to UCI

Months ago, I was accepted by UCI as a computer science major with TAG program. At the spring semester, I failed a Math class (linear equation of algebra )with a D, which is not my major request course. now, I think I still satisfy the transfer condition UCI mentioned, will my offer get rescinded, because i reported this grade, they just told me it’s going to become a part of holistic review. I’m really nervous because i don’t know what time will they tell me if it affects my admission, it has passed two weeks straight and i still get no response.

Well, it violates the TAG, so it will roll into regular admission and they will reassess. No one here can say. Good luck.

Thank you for responding! I think I do not, the requirements of tag as shown below, well it’s for this year, for last year I think Tag wanted me to complete all transferable course with a C or better grade by the end of summer 2018 term. I didn’t get any 'D’s before spring semester, not even a C grade.

Complete one UC transferable English course with a grade of C or better by the end of the summer 2019 term

Complete 60 UC transferable semester units or 90 UC transferable quarter units by the end of the spring 2020 term for fall 2020 admission, with at least 30 semester or 45 UC transferable quarter units completed at a California community college
Complete all major coursework for your chosen major, including course prerequisites and maintain minimum course GPA through the end of the spring 2020 term for fall 2020 admission
Are in good standing for all colleges attended and satisfy all UC transfer eligibility requirements
Attend a California community college during a regular session in your last term

Ah, interesting. I thought all TAGs had the D rule. Thanks for clarifying. That sounds promising! ?Please let us know.

no problem ! you know what UCI just told me my transcripts have been reviewed and i have been cleared for admisson .

Hi there. My brother is in the same situation. He got a D in statistics a week ago. Did you bring the grade to their attention and ask them about it, or keep silent? We are trying to figure out the best approach. He is devastated.

@michelle121: UCI will require final transcripts before an applicant is officially accepted so hiding the D will not do your brother any good. Better to be proactive and let UCI know about the D and find out what he needs to do to maintain an acceptance.
